This policy covers what data is collected when you use the Linden website (getlindenapp.com) and the Linden iOS app. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
Website analytics
This site uses Glyphex for anonymous page view analytics. Glyphex does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.
To count unique visitors without storing personal information, Glyphex creates a temporary ID from a combination of your IP address and browser user-agent string, hashed with a salt that changes every day. The raw IP address is never stored. The ID cannot be used to identify you across days or across sites.
What this means in practice: we can see how many people visited a page and roughly where in the world they are (country level), but we cannot identify or track individual visitors.
No consent banner is required because no personal data is processed and no cookies are set. Glyphex operates on EU infrastructure and is designed to comply with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. There are no advertising trackers, no social media pixels, and no other third-party scripts.
Web demo (/try)
The "Try it" page at getlindenapp.com/try lets you log emotions directly in your browser. Everything you enter — emotions, intensity, journal notes — is stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. It is never sent to our servers or any third party.
When you tap Share, Copy, or Image, the content is prepared entirely on your device. You see and review everything before it goes anywhere. Nothing is transmitted until you explicitly choose a share destination (such as Apple Journal, Day One, Instagram, or Messages) through your device's share sheet.
The generated image is rendered on your device using the Canvas API. No image is uploaded to our servers. The image exists only on your device until you choose to share or save it.
To delete your web demo data, clear your browser's site data for getlindenapp.com, or use the "Clear all entries" button on the page.
iOS app
Linden is an emotion-logging app. You pick how you feel from an interactive emotion picker, optionally write a journal note, and watch your entries build into a visual emotion map over time. The app has no accounts and no registration — there is nothing to sign up for and no profile to fill in.
What the app collects

Emotion entries and journal notes — Which emotions you logged, their intensity, timestamps, optional text notes, and your chosen visual theme per entry.
Stored: on your device only, using Apple's SwiftData framework. The data never touches our servers.

Preferences — Your preferred picker mode, global visual theme, and app settings.
Stored: on-device only, in UserDefaults. Never transmitted.

Speech audio (Describe mode only, premium) — When you use voice input, audio is processed by Apple's on-device speech recognition framework (SFSpeechRecognizer).
Stored: not stored. Audio is processed in real time on your device and immediately discarded. It is never recorded, saved, or transmitted to any server.
What the app does not collect

- — No network requests to our servers — the app works entirely offline

Sharing
When you share your emotion map as an image or video, Linden uses the standard iOS share sheet. You choose where the file goes — we are not involved. The exported file contains only the visual rendering and a Linden watermark. It does not contain your raw emotion data, journal notes, or any metadata beyond what is visible in the image.
Your data, your control
To delete all your data, delete the app. This removes everything stored in SwiftData and UserDefaults on that device.
There is no cloud sync, no account, and no server-side data to worry about. When the app is gone, your data is gone.
GDPR, CCPA, and data protection
Since we do not collect, store, or process any personal data on our servers, the typical data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are exercised directly through your device. We have no data to provide, correct, or delete because we never had it in the first place.
